    Student Responsibilities

At LumenTrek we understand that students have many responsibilities they have to juggle. Between school, athletics, chores, friends and family, their schedules can be full.

In our Discipline Programs, students will have weekly homework, such as practicing the habit we're focusing on (e.g., making the bed daily). They'll also complete a fill-in-the-blank worksheet for key tools discussed and review the previous session by either watching the video or listening to the audio. Overall, this 'homework' is designed to benefit students and should minimally impact their schedules

To ensure our program reaches its full potential, students should possess the following qualities:

    • Honesty
    • Alertness
    • Curiosity
  • Parent using a laptop in a home office setting

    Parent Responsibilities

We believe that the tools we provide students will not only help them reach their goals but also support their journey to becoming independent adults.

With this in mind, parental involvement is essential, yet maintaining a respectful distance allows students the space they need to learn and grow.

For example, one of the skills we teach is time management and scheduling. We encourage students to create their own schedules, book their appointments with us, and set reminders. We expect the students to coordinate with parents to ensure the chosen times fit the family’s calendar, as we understand some logistics may be beyond the student’s control.

We also encourage parents to step back from tasks students can manage independently, like making their bed, cleaning their room, and brushing their teeth. These daily habits build discipline, but they need to be self-driven for students to develop a true sense of responsibility. When tasks are assigned solely by parental authority, it can reduce the student’s internal motivation and sense of ownership.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to support you in every way we can.
